HOW TO USE
THE AUSLAN IN THE
AUSTRALIAN CURRICULUM INTERACTIVE TOOL
Below are two easy-to-follow interactive colour-coded charts, designed to help
you to organise Auslan lesson plans in the
Australian Curriculum.
1. FOCUS ON A SPECIFIC
BAND (YEAR LEVEL) BY COLOUR
1. Select a band (year level) to focus on, for example, Year 5 and 6 (blue colour)
2. Click on all four in columns in Year 5 and 6 - Achievement Standards (AS), Communicating
(C), Understanding (U), and Resources (R)
3. You will see the contents in their boxes, all with the same blue colour
4. Scroll the contents in the boxes to read about it, and to help you to
organise and plan your lessons
5. In both Communicating and Understanding boxes, there will be some elaboration
links, click on these links to view in the Elaborations box

1. To view and compare only just Achievement Standards (AS) across all
bands
(year levels), click on "AS" in all year level boxes
2. To view and compare only just Communicating (C) across all
bands (year levels), click
on "C" in all
year level
boxes
3. To view and compare only just Understanding (U) across all
bands
(year levels), click
on "U" in all
year level
boxes
4. The Elaborations in the Communicating and Understanding boxes will be opened
in a new page.
